Detroit police officers arrested a group of Black Lives Matters protestors during a rally on Wednesday.

According to Detroit News, the protestors blocked traffic and marched to the precinct, before chaining themselves to the precinct’s gate. They called for a “divestment” from Law Enforcement operations, and demanded funding for black education and business opportunities.

While chained to the precinct’s gate, six protestors were handcuffed and arrested for the illegal demonstration.

Detroit Police Cmdr. Elvin Barren commented that while he supports their right to protest peacefully, they broke the law by chaining themselves to the building. “It’s against the law,” he added.
